Subject Medals
These medals are awarded each year to the graduating 8th-graders and seniors, based on their achievements in Mathematics, Science, Religion, Latin, English, History, Music, Drama, and Visual Arts.

Old World Symposium
Ancient and Medieval History came alive with these creative skits by the freshmen and sophomores.

Catalina Trip
As part of their biology class, sophomores take an annual field trip to Catalina Island, where they snorkel and observe marine life.

New World Summit
On May 8, the juniors and seniors did a brilliant job of representing historical characters (from the Renaissance and thereafter) in the form of skits.

Boys Varsity Baseball
After winning their third consecutive league championship, the Crusaders won in the first round of playoffs. They later fell in the second round with an 8-7 loss to the #1 ranked team, but this season was their best ever.

Living Stations of the Cross
On Wednesday of Holy Week, the 8th-graders prayerfully performed the Stations of the Cross.

The Merchant of Venice
Our high school students delivered a hilarious performance of Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice" on March 16-17, 2013.

Science Fair
The 7th- and 8th-graders displayed excellent science projects and shared their newly acquired knowledge with other students and parents. Amber Lambert, Claire Boldt, Yamila Evans, Basil Inman, and Eamonn Mireles won awards for their outstanding projects.

An Evening by the Sea
Our annual auction was held at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. Featuring the seniors' "Roaring 20's" dance routine and this year's Ostia Award winners Martin and Julia Boles, the auction netted a record-breaking $170,000! Special thanks go to our auction co-chairs, auction committee, donors and sponsors.

Ski Trip
The SMA high school's annual ski/snowboard trip took place at Mountain High on Feb. 15, 2013.

Poetry Out Loud Competition
Elena Zepeda won the school poetry recital with a brilliant rendition of The Destruction of Sennacherib, by Lord Byron. She then went on to compete in the regional inter-school competition.

Spelling Bee and Geography Bee
Fifth-grader Sarah Decker won the grade school Spelling Bee, and sixth-grader John Paul Collins won the Geography Bee.

Advent Service Project
This Advent, St. Monica participated in the LA Archdiocese's adopt-a-family program. Our school provided Christmas gifts for two needy families.

Guadalupe Procession
Every year in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Monica Academy holds a procession and Mass for the whole school.

Go2Bat4Life
Walk4LifeSoCal organized this pro-life rally at Dodger Stadium on November 18, 2012. Many St. Monica families participated, and our high school students sang the national anthem. Among the special guest speakers were Archbishop Jose Gomez of Los Angeles, Live Action leader Lila Rose, actors Eduardo Verastegui and Mauricio Kuri, and bands Canto and Lincoln Brewster.

Volleyball Playoffs
For the first time ever, St. Monica's girls varsity volleyball team made it all the way to the State Quarterfinals this year.

All Saints Day
St. Monica students celebrate Halloween and All Saints Day with a pageant and carnival.

Family Groups
Our high school students lead activities for the grade school students several times a year. This year the theme for these events is D.C. vs Marvel Comics.

Top 50 Award
The Cardinal Newman Society has named St. Monica Academy to the Catholic High School Honor Roll as one of the Top 50 Catholic high schools in the nation, for its academic excellence, Catholic identity, and civic education.

Girls Varsity Volleyball
St. Monica's girls varsity volleyball team has been league champion four years in a row!

The H.O.P.
This is our annual High School Orientation Party, whose main purpose is to welcome freshmen into the high school.

Weekly Mass
St. Monica Academy offers Mass for the whole school every week, as well as regular opportunities for the Sacrament of Reconciliation on campus.

Wild Wet Wacky Day
Every school year begins with an afternoon of fun, wet games to cool off in the hot sun.

Skirball Center
The high school seniors and 8th graders took a field trip to the Skirball Center as part of their American History course.
