15th Anniversary Auction Gala: SMA’s Most Successful Auction

On Satuday, April 23, St. Monica Academy celebrated 15 years of excellence in elementary and high school education at its 15th Anniversary Auction Gala. The event was held on the school’s beautiful new campus in Montrose and included classroom tours, cocktail hour and silent auction, dinner and live auction, and music and dancing.

Due to the generosity of the SMA board, parents, donors, and friends, the event was SMA’s highest grossing Auction yet, bringing in more than $175,000 including a $72,000 Cash Call. Proceeds benefit the school’s annual operations including scholarships.

SMA’s Ostia Award was presented to Murphy and Joanne Goodwin, who were instrumental in the founding of the school. “They were not only talented leaders, but also generous donors,” says Marguerite Grimm, Headmaster. “The school will be forever indebted to these two founders.”

The evening featured a song and dance number by SMA high school students, the beautiful flower duet performed by alumni Karolyn and Gianna Halpin, and live music from the Andrew Halpin Band.

Thank you to Auction Chair and Calise Green and the Auction Committee for all their hard work to make SMA’s 15th Anniversary Auction such a resounding success!
