Spring Concert 2014

dsc_9032Our Spring Concert of May 28, 2014 featured some of the best music ever performed at St. Monica Academy. Miss Jane Forsyth expertly conducted grades 1-6 in their renditions of folk songs like I’ve Been Workin’ on the Railroad, The Gypsy Rover, Will Ye Go, Lassie, Go?, and The Holy City, as well as Latin chants like Ave Maris Stella and Ave Maria.

Mr. Stephen Grimm and Miss Genevieve Grimm directed our middle school and high school choirs as they performed El Grillo by Josquin des Prez, Placido È il Mar Andiamo by Mozart, and Libiamo and Va Pensiero by Verdi. Some of the truly outstanding solos, duets, and trios were:
Rose Lemmon – Dido’s Lament by Henry Purcell and Voi Che Sapete by Mozart
Elena, Sylvia, and Renata Zepeda – Seid Uns Zum Zweiten Mal Willkommen by Mozart
Andrew Grimm and Christa Nuno – Bei Männern by Mozart
Anna Goodwin and Madeline Barry – Sull’ Aria by Mozart
Andy Lessard – Tit Willow by Gilbert and Sullivan
Kayla Grimm, Sylvia Zepeda, and Bibiana Grimm – Three Little Maids from School by Gilbert and Sullivan
