Grandparents Day

066-dsc_7674The theme of this year’s Grandparents Day was “Wild Wild West.” After a brilliant rendition of the National Anthem by Sophia, Yesenia, and Mario Vega, the 7th and 8th graders performed “Farmer and the Cowman” from the musical Oklahoma. This was followed by the 4th graders’ narrated history of the Spanish and American cowboys. Other memorable performances were the 2nd graders’ “Oh, Susanna” song, the 1st graders’ Virginia Reel folk dance, the 3rd graders’ “Village Blacksmith” poem, the 5th graders’ “Gunfight at O.K. Corral,” and the 6th graders’ “Death of Julius Caesar.” To finish off the event, our high school choir sang “Shenandoah” and “Stomp Your Foot.”
